ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Scheduling appointments and arranging follow-ups
· Conducting new patient intake, including medical history and insurance information
· Updating patient medical files and handling billing
· Making arrangements for inpatient hospitalization or off-site testing
· Explaining treatment procedures to patients and preparing them for exams
· Collecting specimens for laboratory tests and assisting the physician during exams and medical procedures
· Teaching patients about medications, special diets, exercise plans and other medical lifestyle changes
· Giving vaccinations and drawing blood
· Welcoming patients and answering or referring inquiries
· Preparing exam room instruments, supplies, and equipment
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- National Certification from an accredited school
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an MA (preferred)
- Experience providing primary care to a pediatric and adult population
- Native proficiency in Spanish and English (preferred)
- EPIC personality (empathy, patience, integrity and compassion)
