Overview
This is a part-time teaching position as an elementary school kindergarten or 1st grade teacher for the 2024-25 school year. The kindergarten and 1st grade teachers are assigned 20-25 students.
The kindergarten shift times are:
8:15am - 1:45pm
9:15am - 2:45pm
9:50am - 3:20pm
The 1st grade class time is:
8:15am - 1:45pm

A Day in the Life:
You will:
- Work collaboratively with students, teachers, administrators, and parents.

Required Skill Set:
(These are the minimum skills required to qualify to apply for this position)
- Must hold, or be eligible to hold, an associate or professional Utah educator's license. An LEA specific license will be considered for an exceptional candidate.
- A full Utah professional educator's license is preferred.
- Applicants without a professional or associate's license will be considered. The rate for an LEA specific license is $22.00 per hour depending on education and experience.
- Must have a bachelor's degree. Teacher's in an elementary education program with less than 18 months left in the program will also be considered.
- The ability to teach groups of K-6 students in groups of 15-25 students.
- The ability to use standard learning technologies.
- Express yourself clearly and effectively.
- Listen to and understand information and ideas presented.
- Express information clearly in writing. Use proper organization and grammar.
- Communicate with students in a multimedia environment.
- Perform essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, accurately and safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Background Checks:
Because you will be working around children, you will be required to:
- Pass eVerify check
- If not licensed in Cactus, ability to pass an FBI level fingerprint background check. Please Note: Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the applicant’s successful passage of a background check.
Position Level and Details:
- Hourly: starting at $25.00 per hour for an associate license, $27.50 for a professional license, $22.00 per hour for a LEA specific license.
- Position Type: part-time, hourly
- Reports To: Director of Teaching
- Working Hours: A 5.5 hour daily shift Monday through Friday.
- Work Calendar: School-year (July 29 through June 27), plus additional days for professional development
