Granite Edvance (formerly the New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation, or the NHHEAF Network) has been helping New Hampshire families plan and pay for higher education for over 60 years. We help New Hampshire students plan for their future - whether they are looking to continue their education, pursue the trades or enter the workforce - by providing guidance, scholarships, and private student loans. WHAT'S YOUR DAY LIKE?
As the North Country Pathways & Funding Specialist, you'll use your strong familiarity of the communities in Northern New Hampshire to engage with students of all ages and backgrounds to help assess their education and career goals and develop personalized plans in support of achieving those goals. You'll also provide guidance and support in navigating all aspects of funding their education, including financial aid, scholarships, and student loans. Your days will involve conducting virtual or in-person consultations, providing resources and individualized guidance, delivering virtual or in-person presentations to a variety of stakeholders, and providing feedback and input related to the effectiveness of the organization's career planning and success programming.
In this role, you'll provide tailored advice and support, helping each student to map out a path to success. With a customer-centric mindset, you'll strive to deliver exceptional service and make a positive impact on each individual's journey towards success. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
To excel in this role, you'll need exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, families and partners in the community, and to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the organization. Your ability to create strong connections across a wide range of individuals and backgrounds will be key in fostering trusting relationships with those seeking your assistance.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

3-5 years of experience in school or career counseling, college admissions, financial aid, or workforce development

Demonstrated understanding of education and career access in Northern New Hampshire. Candidates already living and working in Northern New Hampshire are highly desired

Strong presentation and public-speaking skills, with an ability to interact with a wide range of participants and groups of all sizes

Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously

A strong desire to work with individuals across a wide range of socio-economic demographics

Self-motivated, and able to thrive in a frequently changing environment, working with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work between the hours of 8am and 6pm, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary
- Ability to travel as required by position or business needs, primarily in the North Country of NH; up to 80% to travel to local schools, partners, conferences, and meetings.
This is a full-time remote position, with a requirement to work in person at our Concord office a minimum of two days per month. Additional on-site expectations may be required for onboarding and training, or as necessitated by business need.
