Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and talented Cook to join our team. The Cook plays a vital role in the health and nourishment of the residents. You will work alongside the Executive Chef, to coordinate efforts on how to prepare, supply, and order food. You will be responsible for supporting all aspects of our culinary operations, ensuring the highest quality of food and service. Responsibilities:
- Serve high quality food with visual appeal
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and according to instructions
- Assist in menu creation
- Follow recipes properly; manage food portions/avoid waste
- Aid in transport of food as needed
- Maintain daily temperature logs of cooling equipment, proper food temperature and safe food handling
- Organize and maintain all food storage areas; discard expired food and rotate leftover food
-Help receive food orders and rotate first in first out (FIFO)
Experience:
- Proven experience in food service management, preferably in a high-volume establishment
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to multitask and to adapt to changes/improvise accordingly
- Appropriate time management skills
- Proficient in inventory control and cost management
- Culinary expertise with a focus on mindful eating, creativity and innovation
- Experience in banquet and catering operations is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
