Job purpose
The Warehouse Lead assists the Supervisor and General Manager to oversee all the warehouse activities to ensure efficiency and effectively. The Warehouse Lead manage day to day operations by working with their teams to ensure customer satisfaction, and operational goals are consistently met.
Duties and responsibilities
- Provide leadership, direction and inspiration to team members, manage day to day operations by working alongside with line managers and their teams to ensure customer satisfaction, and operational goals are consistently met.
- Manage operating metrics while improving processes, procedures, and performance.
- Oversee and make recommendations related to personnel needs including appropriate staffing of business unit, coaching, and performance management.
- Excellent communication, cohesive strategy planning and execution, ensure strategic actions are completed at all levels the Operations and Warehouse, and desired results are achieved.
- Ensure appropriate metrics are in place to measure performance and progress towards company objectives.
- Partner with Sr. Management team to maximize efficiency and synergy across the organization.
- Collaborate with management and HR-Business Partner in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure safety procedures are effectively communicated and adhered.
- Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.
- Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
- Allocate resources and organize and distribute daily work duties to members to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.
- Inspire and guide team members towards improved Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s) using the appropriate leadership styles and methods.
- Assist in proving appropriate orientation for employees and give them the necessary information, technology and tools to perform their jobs.
- Assist with promoting health and safety working methods within the warehouse.
- Deal with day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
- Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School or equivalent.
- Advanced coursework or college degree in related field a plus
- Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in warehouse operating management, distribution, and inventory control, preferably in public warehousing or private company with a strong emphasis on high volume distribution.
- Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.
- Experience in day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment.
- Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases.

Rate after probation: $21.37 per hour
