We’re seeking a Senior Underwriter with a strong background in commercial lines insurance to market new and renewal accounts and effectively communicate with carriers.
Your Impact:
- Evaluates information to determine risk acceptability in accordance with company guidelines.
- Makes appropriate decisions based on the evaluation of underwriting information.
- Effectively communicates and negotiates underwriting and pricing decisions to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Documents decisions in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Acts with a sense of urgency on all inquiries/requests.
- Provides outstanding customer service.
- Underwrites a moderate book of business with a moderate to complex risk profile.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Successful Candidates Will Have:
- Associate Degree or higher, plus 5 years of relevant commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience. Additional 2 years of commercial P&C underwriting experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Excess and Surplus Lines experience is highly preferred.
- Must have the ability to react and respond quickly and professionally.
- Must provide creative, analytical, and innovative thinking to inure to productive problem-solving.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Mandarin) is preferred.

At One80 Intermediaries, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings, paid time off and paid holidays for eligible employees. The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base pay range for this position is between $79,000 - $100,000 + bonus. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
