Position Overview
The Range Associate is a critical role at Trop Gun Shop. They welcome and engage with customers, help to ensure their safe use of the indoor range and encourage them to purchase goods and services which will help them to be the best gun owner they can and to enjoy the experience of gun ownership.
Essential Job Functions
- Welcome and engage with all customers, asking questions, listening to their needs and providing options for and advice on meeting those needs
- Ensure employee and customer adherence to Indoor Range procedures
- Monitor activity on the shooting lanes
- Assist customers with appropriate lane and target operation
- Sell course offerings to Trop customers and community
- Sell Memberships and Retail inventory
- Keep Trop Indoor Range sanitary and neat
- Troubleshoot Range Equipment issues
- Maintain productive relationships with established customers
- Work as a team player with all staff
- Accurately and carefully use point of sale system to process customer transactions according to company policy and procedure
- Assist Retail Management in store opening and closing procedures
- Maintain and develop product and industry knowledge by independent research, range time and taking advantage of designated learning opportunities
- Adhere to federal, state and local regulations and procedures relative to the sale of firearms
- Learn Trop-specific systems and adhere to policies and procedures
- Ensure awareness of current promotional events and sales
- Be courteous to customers and cooperative with co-workers
- Maintain good housekeeping standards
Requirements
- Passion for the firearms industry and gun ownership
- Interest in developing knowledge-base, as well as understanding of gaps in knowledge
- Ability to interact politely, efficiently and effectively with customers and co-workers
- Ability to effectively use a desktop computer and web applications and browsers
Qualifications
- Must Be At Least 21 Years of Age
- Retail Experience Preferred
- Firearms Experience Required
Physical Requirements
The Sales Associate is frequently required to stand or walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. They are regularly required to sit, stoop, kneel or crouch. They are occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.

Full-Time Pay-Rate: $16.00 + SPIFF Opportunities
