HealthFirst Family Care Center, a Certified Great Place to Work and wonderful place to make a difference, is seeking a Dental Practice Coordinator to join our team of mission-minded healthcare professionals to work in our dental office.
JOB SUMMARY: The Dental Practice Coordinator oversees all personnel issues and handles administrative aspects of the dental clinic, including scheduling and patient care coordination. The Dental Practice Coordinator serves as the liaison between the dental clinic operations and the administration and business office, assisting in billing, credentialing and financial tasks. They are an integral member of the healthcare team to help improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction. This position will represent HealthFirst at community events and health fairs.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises the dental staff and administrative day to day functions of the dental clinic.
- Provides technical support and training in the dental EHR.
- Provides excellent customer service by answering questions regarding treatment plans, bills, insurance, appointments, schedules, and more, in a timely and courteous manner.
- Supports both the dental services team and the patient services team in the care of dental patients, including conducting patient consultations
- Oversees the provision of patient GFEs (Good Faith Estimates) and Dental procedure and insurance pre-estimates.
- Works directly with patients on self-pay payment plans, co-pays and collections of uncovered services.
- Manages referrals out of and into the dental practice.
- Manages the dental schedule by confirming that appointments are scheduled correctly and works to fill vacancies.
- Prepares reports for the CEO, Site Manager, Finance Director, Board of Directors, and other members of Leadership as directed.
- Utilizes best practices to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Responds to clinical and operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Serves as the dental liaison to the finance department.
- Acts as the “go-to” person for day-to-day activities of the dental clinic, including callouts and arranging coverage.
- Works with the credentialing team to assist in the credentialing of dental providers.
- Assist in finance & billing functions such as accounting data entry, insurance follow up and preparation of dental practice reports.

Requirements:EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Associates or Bachelors degree preferred or at least 5 years dental office experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. BLS certification required.
