About the Position
The Senior Director, MI International will report directly to the Executive Vice President (EVP) at MI International and play a crucial role in amplifying the effectiveness of the EVP through strategic management of initiatives and operations. This senior role requires a proactive, insightful, and resourceful leader with robust capabilities in strategic planning and operational oversight within an intricate, global framework.
Strategic Objectives:
Grow Global Stakeholders:
Enhance the MI Global Fellows Program: Collaborate closely with the EVP and the Chair of Global Fellows to attract seasoned leaders who contribute specialized knowledge and strategic insights, thus bolstering our global initiatives.
Expand the MI Internship Program: Scale the Asia Internship program to additional regions, implementing best practices to engage emerging talent in their final years of university or graduate studies.
Fostering Internal Collaboration:
Global Operational Coordination: Manage the logistical and operational aspects of international affairs to align with MI’s goals, optimizing resource use and enhancing operational efficiencies across all regions.
Strategic Implementation and Evaluation: Support the EVP in the development, execution, and review of impactful strategies that propel MI’s mission and broaden our international footprint, translating strategic visions into executable and measurable actions.
Advisory and Decision Support: Provide indispensable support and counsel to the EVP by preparing comprehensive briefing materials, presentations, and reports for pivotal meetings and decisions, ensuring the EVP remains well-informed on vital issues and forthcoming engagements.
Optimizing External Opportunities:
Dynamic Stakeholder Engagement: Actively develop and strengthen relationships with both new and existing international partners to support the expansion of MI International’s influence and operational effectiveness globally.
Establish New Partnerships: Seek out and establish connections with organizations and individuals to broaden MI’s outreach into global markets.
Enhance MI Executives' Visibility: Strategically identify speaking engagements and public appearances for MI leaders and senior executives outside the United States to elevate their profiles and MI’s global influence.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required

Minimum 10+ years of experience and management experience a plus

Track record of successfully cultivating and closing funding

Strong oral and written communication skills

Proven project management and leadership skill set

Effective public speaking and presentation skills small meeting setting or with large audiences

Working Conditions & Travel Requirements
This position will work in a professional office environment. This person will also be required to travel occasionally to other offices and/or venues to assist with events as needed, requiring occasional work outside of traditional hours. International along with domestic travel is possible. Additionally, this position requires interacting virtually on a regular basis with Milken Institute staff based in other locations in the United States and around the world.

This position will work a hybrid schedule consisting of three (3) days per week reporting in-person to your respective office location (Tuesday – Thursday), with the remaining two (2) days working remotely. Please understand, this schedule is subject to change in the Institute’s sole discretion.
