Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Part-Time Virtual Occupational Therapist to join our telehealth team. As a Virtual OT, you will provide essential occupational therapy services to patients through virtual platforms, promoting independence, improving functional abilities, and enhancing overall well-being. This role offers the flexibility of remote work and part-time hours, ideal for balancing professional responsibilities with personal commitments.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct virtual assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and environmental factors to evaluate functional abilities and limitations.
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practice guidelines, tailored for remote therapy delivery.
- Implement therapeutic interventions and activities via telehealth platforms to address patients' motor skills, coordination, sensory processing, and daily living skills.
- Utilize adaptive equipment recommendations and assistive technology strategies to support patients' independence and enhance quality of life remotely.
- Educate and train patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, home exercise programs, and environmental modifications through virtual sessions.
- Monitor and document patients' progress, outcomes, and changes in therapy plans, ensuring accurate and timely documentation using telehealth tools.
- Collaborate effectively with remote healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, speech therapists, and social workers, to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes.
- Advocate for patients' rights and accessibility within telehealth settings, ensuring equitable access to therapy services and resources.
- Stay current with advances in telehealth technology and occupational therapy research through continuing education and professional development activities.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid state license or certification as an Occupational Therapist (OTR).
- Proven experience as an OT, with proficiency in telehealth or remote therapy services preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of occupational therapy principles, practices, and telehealth technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients and healthcare teams remotely.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to therapy, adapting strategies to meet the unique needs of virtual patients.
- Ability to work independently and manage caseload efficiently in a remote work environment.
