Position Summary:
The Office of Career and Student Success Services (CSSS) provides services and resources that empower all Columbia College students to explore and identify their academic and professional passions while acquiring the skills, experiences, and connections needed to thrive academically and graduate prepared for their post-graduation goals.
The primary role of the Assistant Director of Career and Student Success Services is to manage Accessibility Services & Accommodations. As the manager of Accessibility Services & Accommodations, the Assistant Director of Career and Student Success Services works directly with Columbia College students to provide services and document accommodations to meet the various needs of students with disabilities at the college, ensuring equal opportunity for all students to participate in all programs. This position plays an important role in the institution’s retention efforts, and focuses on creating an academically, socially, and physically accessible environment for all students by removing barriers to learning.
The Assistant Director of Career and Student Success Services also maintains a small Career and Student Success coaching caseload with students in the Division of Arts & Humanities. Reporting to the Executive Director of Career and Student Success Services, this position works closely with the Executive Director and the Career and Student Success Coaches to ensure all students are provided with academic and professional development resources that foster successful behaviors and habits, while also increasing access to resources at Columbia College and in the community.
