We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong background in restaurant operations.
The Restaurant Floor Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the dining area, ensuring exceptional service, and creating a positive guest experience. This role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and organizational skills to manage staff, resolve issues, and maintain high standards of service and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet and welcome guests, ensuring a positive and memorable dining experience.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Monitor and assess guest satisfaction, implementing improvements as needed.
- Staff Management:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of dining room staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bussers.
- Conduct staff training sessions on service standards, restaurant policies, and safety procedures.
- Schedule shifts and manage labor costs to optimize productivity and service quality.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Operations Management:
- Oversee the setup and cleanliness of the dining area, ensuring it meets health and safety regulations.
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements to maximize occupancy and guest satisfaction.
- Monitor inventory levels of dining room supplies and coordinate with the purchasing department for replenishments.
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
- Financial Management:
- Assist in budget preparation and monitor financial performance, including sales and expenses.
- Implement cost-control measures without compromising service quality.
- Handle cash and credit transactions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve any operational issues, such as equipment malfunctions or staff shortages.
- Implement and enforce restaurant policies and procedures to maintain order and efficiency.
- Team Leadership:
- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Motivate and inspire the team to achieve service excellence and meet performance goals.
- Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism and a strong work ethic.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in restaurant management or a similar role.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Willingness to be on the floor 80% of the time
- Ability to handle stressful situations with composure and professionalism.
- Proficiency in using restaurant management software and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.
