Get To Know Dayspring
In 1987 Dayspring opened Dayspring Village, a licensed 94 bed Limited Mental Health Assisted Living Facility. Our Staff and leadership teams are made up of compassionate, caring individuals who are dedicated to assisting each of our residents with a continuous course of redirection in their daily skills, to reduce symptoms, and improve the quality of life.
In 2016 we opened our second facility, Dayspring Senior Living. Our desire was to continue to serve the members of our community by providing a family owned, rural set Assisted Living Facility for the Elderly Population of Nassau County, FL. We take great pride in the personal relationships that we have formed with the local community and look forward to continue building upon to them to better care for our residents and their families.
The Challenge
Our goal to provide the best care and service possible is an ongoing one that we continue to strive towards. Our Direct Care Team leads the charge for our Client Management department by being our front-line, hands-on care takers. We look to our Direct Care Workers to be the face of care, compassion, and patience to our residents.
The Skill Set
- 1 year of Care Taking experience (A loved one, Home Health, Medical Facility)
- People Oriented
- Willing to be hands-on by:
- Assisting Residents with their daily activities
- Assisting Residents with their medications
- Assisting Residents with their personal needs (Bathing, Toileting, Eating)
- Encouraging Residents to engage in events and social activities
- Basic Computer Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Able to make observations and document them accurately
- Caring, Compassionate, and Patient
- Willing to be trained to dispense medication (Med Tech)
- Willing to be trained to respond to emergencies
- Willing to be trained to complete CPR and First Aid
Within 1 Month, You Will...
- Get familiar with the facility and resident routine.
- Be trained in our Health Care Software Point Click Care and master skills such as:
- Making resident progress notes
- Documenting Medications
- Sending Secure Messages to Case Managers, Physicians, and other staff.
- Be Trained in Infection Control Policies
- Be Trained in Food Handling Policies and Procedures
- Be Trained in Major Emergency Management and Response
- Be Trained in Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation identification and handling
- Be Trained in Alzheimer's Care
- Be Trained to assist with Activities of Daily Living
- Be Trained in Do Not Resuscitate Orders (DNRO)
- Be Trained in Elopement & Wandering Policies and Procedures
- Be Trained in HIPPA Regulations
- Be Trained on Resident Rights
- Be Trained in HIV identification and care coordination
- Be Trained to identify, document, and handle significant changes in resident conditions
- Complete the Medication Technician certification course and be certified to assist residents with their medication
Within 3 Months, You Will...
- Partner with Case Managers and Physicians to coordinate health appointments and check-ins.
- Build trust relationships with the resident’s and be a source of consistency in the
resident’s daily routines.
- Be proactive in encouraging residents to engage in best-care practices such as:
- Medications
- Groups and Social Events
- Doctor and Psychologist appointments
- Personal Hygiene
- Identify resident needs and help address them in a caring and restful manner.
- Creating a calm, inviting, and organized environment that encourages residents to reach for and achieve goals.
- Conduct Resident interviews to determine mental and physical health status, satisfaction with facility and staff services, and addressing resident needs.
- Become familiar with the PEX Card System and assist residents with making purchases with their funds.
Within 6 Months, You Will...
- Complete the Limited Mental Health certification course.
- Become a certified Mental Health First Aider.
- Complete a stay interview with our Leadership Team to address any needs, concerns, provide feedback on your employment experience, and identify future career goals.
- Advocate internally and externally for Resident Rights and Care Services.
Within 12 Months, You Will...
- Ensure resident success based on individual and program goals.
- Identify growth opportunities in programs and services.
- Help train new staff by participating in hands-on training and onboarding sessions.
- Facilitate internal staff conversation to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and growth within Care Services, Staff Engagement, and overall Facility Success.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour
