We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our team primarily to support our clergy (with flexibility to take on different departments over time), who is looking for an opportunity to do fulfilling work that helps the lives of others.

- To succeed in the role, you'll show you care about each congregant and fellow staff members by being knowledgeable, attentive, and organized in your role.
- Your attention to detail will be called upon to make facilitate important work. You will be expected to take initiative to assess how things work and execute and improve upon various reception and administrative tasks, from answering phone calls and scheduling requests, to communications, to ordering the right materials and supplies. Your ability to provide top notch congregant service will be critical to your success.
- In this position, you will be a friendly point of contact and resource for congregants and staff at Temple Beth El. You'll also get to write and send correspondence to connect with members of our congregation.
- As the dynamic and adaptable administrative team member, we will count on you to make sure things are running smoothly in a variety of ways that may change from time to time. From making sure materials are in place, to room reservations, to facilitating communications among the team, you'll always have something interesting to do. In the process, you will get to know some truly inspiring people. There is always something to do around our building, so if you like to stay busy and help others, you will thrive.
- You will frequently be the friendly face (or voice) our families will meet as they reach out to our clergy for support, so we are looking someone who is a true people person with the ability to conscientiously resolve the various requests that are made in the process.
- You will be involved in helping our clergy prepare for worship, programs, and other activities, so your ability to stay organized and engaged will be important.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED is required. Associates degree is preferred.
Experience: One to three years of prior experience working in an office is required. Deep knowledge of Jewish traditions, customs, and beliefs, and experience working in a Jewish setting is preferred.
Must have availability to work occasional weekends and evenings.
Must have competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Must be able to learn and implement skills in new technology systems and databases quickly.
Must be able to engage in light physical work, including lifting, pushing, pulling of objects up to 25 pounds.
