Job Description: Mailroom Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Mailroom Manager to oversee all operations within our company's mailroom. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient handling, distribution, and dispatch of incoming and outgoing mail and packages. The Mailroom Manager will lead a team, manage mailroom resources, and implement best practices to optimize mailroom operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Mailroom Operations: Oversee daily mailroom activities, including sorting, logging, and distribution of incoming mail and packages. Ensure timely dispatch of outgoing mail.
- Team Management: Supervise, train, and evaluate mailroom staff. Create work schedules and assign tasks to ensure efficient operation.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement procedures to improve mailroom efficiency and service quality. Stay updated with industry best practices and integrate them as appropriate.
- Equipment Management: Ensure all mailroom equipment (e.g., postage meters, scanners, sorters) is well-maintained and functioning properly. Arrange for repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with postal services, courier companies, and other mail service providers. Negotiate contracts and service agreements.
- Inventory Control: Maintain adequate supplies of mailroom materials, such as envelopes, packing materials, and postage. Monitor and order inventory as needed.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure mailroom operations comply with company policies and legal regulations. Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive and confidential information.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage the mailroom budget. Monitor expenses and seek cost-saving opportunities.
- Customer Service: Address and resolve issues related to mail and package delivery promptly. Provide excellent service to internal departments and external partners.
- Reporting: Generate and present reports on mailroom activities, volume of mail processed, and other relevant metrics to senior management.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a mailroom or similar operational environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.01 - $21.69 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
