Pacifica Hospital of the Valley is a small community hospital in the San Fernando Valley with a seven-bed intensive care unit. They have an immediate opening for an ICU RN.
This position is ideal for an RN with 1 to 2 years of experience in Critical Care, ICU, Telemetry, or Step Down wanting to gain more knowledge. Pacifica Hospital of the Valley is a UNION HOSPITAL.
NIGHT AND DAY SHIFTS AVAILABLE - 12-HOUR SHIFTS - 3-DAY BLOCK SCHEDULE - Full-Time
The ICU RN/REGISTERED NURSE is a patient care team member responsible for providing direct nursing care to critically ill or injured patients, including assessment, plan of care, education, and evaluation. The ICU RN/ REGISTERED NURSE delivers patient care duties necessary to maintain the flow of patient care and coordinates the delivery of care provided by other patient care team members.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in the ICU setting, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention for critically ill patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and monitor patient responses.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Perform procedures such as intubation, arterial line insertion, and ventilator management.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their conditions and treatment plans.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards to ensure the highest level of patient care and safety.
Qualifications:
- Valid California RN License (REQUIRED)
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) is highly desired
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in ICU, critical care nursing, Telemetry, or Step Down (REQUIRED)
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- BLS/ACLS
- EKG Training (REQUIRED)
- Critical Care training, including Hemodynamics (REQUIRED)
