Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembler to join our team.
1. Plan layout of parts or assemblies from production schedules and knowledge of stock on hand. Select and layout from orders or folios. Maintain schedule dates by expediting production orders through various departments and operations for processing on promised dates.
2. Assemble components, sub-assemblies and trim manually at a bench or by operating such equipment as riveters, drill presses and bench presses. Place completed components, sub-assemblies and trim in tote pans or in plastic bags and use a scaling machine as required.
3. Count, wrap, pack and label hardware items as required. Read tickets for instructions and quantities. Determine size of boxes required. Check goods against tickets, orders or folios for type, style and finish to assure correct items are being packed. Apply labels or markings as required.
4. Job requires knowledge of department procedures, stock on hand and capacity of various assembly locations or machines. Involves working in close contact with other personnel from various departments for special attention on urgently needed parts. Fill out move or shortage tickets and record movements as necessary. Perform all related clerical work.
5. Inspect parts and assemblies for finish and function throughout the course of performing the job. Segregate rejects and bring to the attention of proper personnel.
6. Use data entry equipment and/or barcode scanners in the performance of the job.
7. Transport material to and from various departments and within the department as required.
8. Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Educational Requirements, Skills and Abilities:
1. Be knowledgeable of, and conform to, plant safety rules and regulations.
2. Requires a high school or trade school diploma or equivalent manufacturing work experience.
3. Must be able to read and speak English.
Hours: Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm.
