We are looking for a Registered Nurse with excellent IV skills to care for our clients one to four shifts a month. You will be responsible for educating them on all services that Live offers. The ideal candidate will be a responsible, well-trained professional that is confident in starting IVs and able to give the best nursing care with little supervision. You will be compassionate and cool-tempered. You will be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently. The goal is to promote patients’ well-being by providing high-quality nursing care.
Responsibilities
- Monitor client's conditions and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice
- Observe and interpret the patient’s symptoms and communicate them to the medical director
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
- Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections, starting IVs, etc.) and fill in patients’ charts
- Adjust and administer the client's IV treatment according to the medical director's orders
- Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (cleaning sanitizing surfaces, preparing chairs, etc.)
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for clients
- Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending educational workshops, conferences, etc.
- Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
- Follows facility and GHR Unusual Occurrence Protocol
- Respects cultural and religious practices of patients
- Upholds HIPAA regulations
- Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts
- Performs other position-related duties as assigned
Experience
- Pre-operative or ER preferred
- Minimum of 1 year full-time and preferably 2 years.
Skills
- Proven experience as a registered nurse
- Excellent and Confident in starting IV's
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to always follow them
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Responsible and compassionate
- Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Patient with excellent problem-solving skills
- Valid nursing license
- Valid BLS
Physical Demands
Staff may spend a great deal of their professional day walking, standing, moving, and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment, and supplies. It is reasonable to anticipate lifting 20-25 pounds on any given day. Lifting up to 40-50 pounds may occasionally be required, depending on the specific style or type of care provided. Additionally, you may spend as much as 2 hours consecutively on your feet.
In the performance of certain patient care tasks, the Staff may be expected to have sufficient manual dexterity in order to safely perform various skills and techniques. Tasks and expectations may vary by clinical site and medical practice.
