This is role is for a relationship-builder champion who will collaborate with the participants, their families, the communities we serve and with other team members in Futures. For sure, your role is critical for the success of Futures as an organization. As such, you must have the proficiencies and work experience as required:
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Be a positive role model not only to the participants but to team members as well.
- Have a collaborative work style using teamwork skills, professionalism, with tact, diplomacy, and good judgement.
- Possess good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Able to prioritize work to meet deadlines, work independently and have some flexibility to adapt to changes.
- Open to work in the evenings and weekends for participant support, meetings, and community events – if needed.
- Ability to analyze problems, situations, and alternatives to make effective decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills.
- You must be diligent about their safety yet resourceful, always seeking for new opportunities for the participants’ next enjoyable educational outings.
- Have the physical stamina and the patience to be a reliable support system, at all times.
- Able to multi-task, to analyze problems and situations, and find appropriate alternatives should there be changes in the conditions and situations in the environment.
- Be open to work in the evenings and weekends for participant support, meetings, and community events – if needed.
- Comply with the Dependent Adult and Elder Abuse Requirements as stipulated by law.
Job Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Authorized to work in U.S.
- High school diploma or four (4) years or more of related work experience, preferably with a human service agency or educational organization working with persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities, will be considered in lieu of the educational requirements.
- Possess a valid CA driver’s license, insurable driving record, and evidence of auto insurance.
- Willingness to drive agency vehicles for community outings.
- Knowledgeable of computers and software use, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and G Suite Workplace.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- LiveScan criminal record clearance (or exemption) prior to start.
- Health Screening and TB Test clearance. Not more than 1 year prior to employment or within 7 days after employment.
- Physical stamina and ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to perform the assigned duties safely and effectively.
Great if you have:
- Knowledgeable of Lanterman Act regulations, Regional Center guidelines, and State of California Licensing regulations.
- Certified in First Aid/CPR/AED by a qualified instructor.
