Midwest Animal Hospital seeks an enthusiastic Daycare attendant who loves dogs and has a fantastic work ethic! If you want to work with our furry friends to give them an engaging, stimulating, and joyful experience while their parents are away, this role is for you!
Our daycare staff works hard to ensure all dogs have a fun day with their friends in a safe environment, ensuring safe play for all. Our daycare team leads the pack, confidently guiding the pups with clear commands so they listen and respond appropriately. The daycare team organizes fun activities, teaches basic commands, and, of course, gives lots of love!
In this role, you will learn:
- Appropriate play behavior
- How to spot and redirect inappropriate behavior
- Proper dog handling
- How to give basic commands
- A lot about dog body language

Requirements:
- Must possess a warm, caring, friendly demeanor and a professional appearance
- Must be a true dog lover
- Must be willing to work days, weekends, and holidays
- This is a very active position; you will be constantly on your feet, paying attention to interactions between dogs
- Ability to notice any signs that the dogs in your care are sick or in distress and address those problems quickly
- Patience is a must; we never use physical punishment and require people who can manage dog behavior without mistreatment or frustration
- Must be a team player as you will be working with other attendants and managers throughout your shift
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain a safe play area for large groups of dogs
- Monitor the dogs to ensure appropriate play
- Perform regular cleaning duties to keep our facilities as sanitary as a human daycare (be prepared; dogs can be messy!)
- Remain in compliance with all policies, including attendance, dress code standards, and punctuality
