The New Jersey Athletic Club is expanding its staff and seeking a qualified individual to join our team of professionals. The ideal candidate should enjoy a fitness lifestyle, be a personable and outgoing team member with a strong work ethic and be goal oriented. One of the most crucial jobs at the NJAC is the front desk associate, who serves as both the club's face and the first point of contact for customers.
The following characteristics and duties are necessary for the position:
Customer Service:
- Have a kind and welcoming attitude when greeting members.
- Help members with check-in and registration procedures.
- Make sure that membership protocols are followed, such as confirming IDs and member access privileges.
- Update member credit card details and retrieve outstanding balances.
- Respond to phone calls and in-person questions, providing details on the services and activities offered by the club.
- Always act with professionalism and helpfulness.
- Work both the juice bar and front desk during assigned hours.
- Keep the front desk area tidy and well-organized.
- Acquire knowledge about and then exhibit mastery of our member management system.
- If scheduled, open and close the establishment.
Security and safety:
- As designated, walk the building to enforce club rules, rerack weights and noting which equipment needs servicing.
- Help with emergency circumstances, including evacuation plans and first aid. CPR certified or willingness to become certified.
- Complete incident reports and forward them to the managers.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or its equal.
- Be punctual, responsible, and detailed oriented
- Prior retail or hospitality experience providing customer service, ideally at a health club or wellness facility.
- Knowledge of handling cash and completing transactions at the point of sale.
- Ability to climb stairs and lift fifty pounds is required.
- Be physically active and stand for extended amounts of time while working.
