We are looking for a responsible and hard-working Cabinet Maker - Bench Carpenter - a "true craftsman" who takes pride in their work. Our “ideal” applicant would have 2 years of previous carpentry / finishing experience - but we can teach the right individual. If you have experience, we take that into account when we set starting wages. We are looking for someone in the surrounding tristate area.
What you will be doing:
- Constructing millwork walls, cabinets, countertops, various wood trims and other specialty items.
- Setting-up and safely operating a variety of woodworking equipment ( table saws, hand routers, belt sanders, and cut off saws) to surface, cut, and shape lumber.
- Verifying dimensions to blue prints / schematics to check the quality or fit of pieces to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Fabricating solid surface material (i.e. Corian).
- Applying plastic laminate and veneeer to flat and radius vertical surfaces
- Attaching parts or subassemblies together to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, or clamps making sure that the joints are tight.
- Trimming, sanding, or scraping surfaces or joints to prepare articles for finishing.
- Boring holes for insertion of screws or dowels, by hand or using boring machines.
- Installing hardware, such as hinges, handles, catches, or drawer pulls, using hand tools.
- Properly packing finished cabinets and counter tops for shipment.
- Applying your mechanical skills, precision and attention to detail to custom-craft cabinetry
- Applying critical thinking / problem-solving skills to efficiently and accurately shape and assemble components from information contained in the shop drawings.
- Reading and understanding blueprints and schematics.
- Regularly using a tape measure – The "Carpenter's Creed: Measure twice, and cut once."

- You can count on working a steady year-round with a fairly predictable schedule of working 40-50 hours / week - 6:00am - 4:30pm (Day-shift hours only) - Monday through Friday.
