Dermatology Group of the Carolinas is a privately-owned dermatology practice with offices in Concord, Huntersville & Salisbury. We are currently looking to expand our staff with a full-time certified medical assistant/scribe.

Job Summary:
The primary role of our medical assistant is to answer calls from patients, work to evaluate their needs and address their needs appropriately. and act as the scribe for the physician in all examinations and procedures in order to provide superb documentation in the NexTech EMR system. The assistants act as a chaperone during all exams & treatment. They are also required to reinforce and provide written & verbal patient education as needed.
*Escort patients to exam rooms, record and update demographics as well as medical history
- Follow up with patients on all results and follow-up instructions as directed by Provider
Verifies and documents all prescriptions as directed by provider
- Assist Physician with various procedures and examinations
- Act as a medical scribe to document all chief complaints, review of systems, diagnosis and plans, along with prescriptions, pathologies, procedures & provider orders.
- Performs patient care as directed by Provider, which may include dressing changes, suture removals etc.
- Triage patient calls as needed during working hours
- Maintain exam room cleanliness and inventory
- Clean, sterilize and stock all instruments according to OSHA guidelines
- Ensures compliance of HIPAA & OSHA guideline as required by the federal government. Education and Experience:
- High School or Equivalent
- Must have current certification or license as a medical assistant
- Dermatology Experience a plus
- At least 1 year of Medical Assisting experience a plus
