Title: Safety Coordinator (Night Shift)
OMi Crane Systems, Inc. is a vertically integrated manufacturer of through the air material handling equipment. From our 76,000 square foot plant outside Dallas, Texas we provide product, turnkey installation, start up and load testing services. With service locations in Dallas, Houston, and Birmingham, we provide 24/7 product support for our products, as well as the products of other manufacturers.
OMi has an immediate opening for an Safety Coordinator (Night Shift). Seeking a self-motivated team member, capable of managing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary: As a Safety Coordinator on the night shift at OMi Crane Systems' manufacturing facility, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of our operations. Working closely with the Safety Manager and the night shift team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining safety programs, policies, and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries during nighttime manufacturing operations while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Also assist other departments as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as company safety policies.
- Night Shift Training: Assist in the development and delivery of safety training programs.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct thorough safety inspections during the night shift, identifying potential hazards and recommending immediate corrective actions when necessary.
- Incident Response: Participate in accident and incident investigations , documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Emergency Procedures: Assist with emergency response procedures that are specific to nighttime operations, including evacuation and first aid.
- Night Shift Communication: Communicate safety policies, procedures, and updates to employees effectively, fostering a culture of safety awareness.
- PPE Compliance: Monitor and enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), ensuring its availability and adherence.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement in safety processes and procedures and working with the team to implement enhancements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- OSHA 30,510 or 511
- 1-3 years’ experience
- 1st aid/CPR AED or higher.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and standards, particularly related to welding, forklift, and overhead crane operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively during nighttime hours.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
- A willingness to learn and adapt.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stand, and climb during night shifts.
- Lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to wear and use PPE as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 per week
