SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Service Advisor is responsible for scheduling service work in the Ford Service Department and for selling additional needed service to customers. Our customer base is strictly business to business.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains Customer Satisfaction Index rating at least comparable to that of the manufacturer, zone or branch average.
- Maintains a dealership-prescribed standard for “hours per customer repair order written”.
- Accomplishes the forecast that has been established by the Service Manager.
- Schedules appointments using dealership-approved forms and sets up appointments when parts come in.
- Communicates with service customers to determine the nature of the mechanical problem(s).
- Obtains customer and vehicle data. Do walk around with clients to check for damage and obtain clients signature.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
- Go over invoice and explain the repairs that were done to vehicle and future maintenance items needed.
- Greets all customers promptly and gives fair estimates on costs and time required for repairs and maintenance.
- Handles all customer complaints. Makes reasonable decisions to resolve customers concerns per pre-established company policy.
- Breaks down estimates into labor and parts before the job is started so that repair technicians are aware of time allowances.
- Accounts for all documents; ensure that none are missing. Open repair orders monitored and updated.
- Ensures that customers’ service files are up-to-date and are readily available for reference.
- Check Oasis for open recalls and extended warranty.
- Work closely with Shop Foreman.
- Use Uptime Pro to keep customers and staff updated.
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensures that the work areas are kept clean.
- Performs other duties as required.
Required:
- Able to comfortably operate computer software.
- Two years of experience in an auto repair facility.
- Ability to work under pressure and perform multiple tasks at one time.
- Excellent communication skills.
Desired: ASE certification preferred. Experience working as a Service Advisor.
EQUIPMENT UTILIZED: Computers, operate customer and company vehicles.
TIME REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
Department is Open Monday – Friday (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
Morning Shift: 6:00am - 3:00pm
Evening Shift: 9:00am - 6:00pm
