Job Purpose
To drive cost optimization and operational excellence through strategic sourcing and market analysis.
Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Leading the Purchasing and Procurement Function: Providing strategic direction, managing resources, and ensuring the team delivers on cost-saving and efficiency goals.
· Developing and executing innovative sourcing strategies: Identifying and securing the most cost-effective and reliable suppliers for goods and services.
· Market analysis and negotiation: Conducting market research, analyzing price trends, and negotiating advantageous terms with vendors.
· SAP management: Maintaining accurate SAP data related to purchasing and materials, and training others on relevant functions.
· Leadership, Management & Team Development: Providing leadership and guidance to team members, fostering collaboration and a high-performing environment.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience in Related Field, Skills, etc.):
· Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline with 5+ years of related experience in procurement planning in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Advanced level knowledge and skills associated with SAP AiO forecasting, planning, production scheduling, and processes (or similar database/business information systems)
· Advanced level knowledge and skills associated with inventory management principles
· Advanced level knowledge and skills associated word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), presentations (PowerPoint), Project, Visio and Microsoft Outlook
Preferred Qualifications (Certificates, Training, Licenses, and Experience):
· Knowledge of grinding machines and grinding machine parts and services
· SAP Production Planning Certification
· Lean systems processes (i.e., Six-Sigma) knowledge and experience
· German and/or Spanish language skills
Other (Supervisory Responsibilities, Physical Demands, Travel):
· Responsible for managing purchasing staff
· Participate and successfully complete company provided leadership development training courses as applicable
· Occasional overnight domestic and international travel required
