JOB DESCRIPTION
The second shift maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment in a safe manner.
Essential Functions
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Perform simple machinist or fabricator duties and responsibilities.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Required Education and Experience
- Three (3) or more years of manufacturing maintenance experience; with strong electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical skills, including experience with PLC. (Experience with servo systems, machine vision and robotics is a plus.)
- Completion of an apprenticeship program, or an equivalent number of years of education and manufacturing maintenance experience is a plus.

Work Environment
- This job operates in a manufacturing plant.
- Certain tasks or work areas require hearing protection to be worn.
- May be working in areas where fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration are present – appropriate personal protection equipment must be worn in those areas.
Physical Demands and Abilities
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Regularly lift 30-50 pounds.
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
- Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 3:25 p.m. to 12:55 a.m. (Saturday overtime as necessary).
Travel
Some travel may be required to attend training, seminars, trade shows and/or equipment evaluations. Some travel could be overnight and/or international.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
