A Land Survey Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of the land surveying department in a particular region. Our service area includes both North and South Carolina. Their primary role is to ensure that land survey projects are carried out efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with relevant regulations. Additionally, recruiting, and retaining talented staff. This position will also be responsible for managing project managers, field crews, and CAD technicians.

Salary: $100,000-$130,000
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and lead a team of surveyors and support staff.
- Provide guidance and support to survey teams in the field.
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement training programs as needed.
- Project Management:
- Plan, organize, and manage land survey projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and meet project scopes, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Respond timely to requests and provide written updates.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of survey data and deliverables.
- Implement quality control processes to meet industry standards.
- Review survey reports and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Compliance and Regulations:
- Stay abreast of land surveying laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Ensure that survey projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals for surveying activities.
- Technology and Innovation:
- Stay updated on advancements in surveying technology and tools.
- Implement new technologies to enhance surveying efficiency and accuracy.
- Evaluate and recommend the purchase of surveying equipment and software.
- Client Relations:
- Build and maintain relationships with clients with verbal communications.
- Address client concerns and ensure customer satisfaction timely.
- Participate in business development activities to secure new projects.
- Budget Management:
- Manage project budgets and expenses.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving measures when necessary.
- Safety and Risk Management:
- Implement safety protocols for surveying operations.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with survey projects.
A Land Survey Transportation Lead will demonstrate successful performance through employee engagement, increased business growth, solidifying fiscal strength, and proven client satisfaction. This position will also support our mission and vision and demonstrate our core values.
Qualifications:
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license(s) is required.
- Proven experience in land surveying, with a focus on project management, 10+ years preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of surveying software and technology.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
