Multi-Classroom Teacher Job Description
Purpose: The Multi-Classroom (MCT) Teacher, having content and instructional expertise, will support two to three regular classroom teachers with the goal of developing their effectiveness. The MCT will co-plan and co-teach with these teachers on a regular, pre-determined schedule. MCTs will have a full class-load, though their class-load will be shared with each of the co-teachers.

Payment Rate: According to Certified Teacher Salary Schedule plus $10,000 annual supplement

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university

Minimum of four years of successful prior teaching experience.

Current North Carolina Teaching Continuing License.

Desire to continue career improvement.

Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing

Demonstrated strength in organization, communication skills and efficiency in meeting deadlines

A minimum of 8 points on the MCT Qualification Checklist from at least two different categories, with at least 4 points in the category of Student Achievement

Knowledge of best practices regarding co-teaching
Essential Functions:-
Co-teach with at least 3 other teachers on a regular basis, specifically:
-
Regularly meet to co-plan the instruction, with a specific emphasis on developing the efficacy and skills of the co-teacher;

Co-instruct students daily on a set schedule with all assigned Co-Teachers;
-
Fulfill all duties of classroom teachers for assigned students (including teacher conferences, grades, providing feedback to students, etc.).

Foster positive relationships with co-teachers, other educators, and administrators.

React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.

Attend and participate in all required district-level trainings and support for Multi-Classroom Teachers.
General Responsibilities:-

Regularly scheduled Training days focused on general leadership development, how to co-teach and co-plan with others, and how to mentor and develop another individual in a 1:1 setting

Minimum of 3 individual coachings per year by a district-level coach focusing on personal leadership development and influence

Regular collaboration with other Multi-Classroom Teachers across the district (both formal and informal)

An online learning community designed to offer ongoing support, resources, and collaboration between Multi-Classroom Teachers

Growth and evaluation measured on a rubric specific to Multi-Classroom Teachers in addition to the standard NCEES rubric
