Junior Developer (E-commerce)
Rest (www.rest.com) is seeking a motivated and talented Junior Developer to join our e-commerce team and work under the guidance of our Head of E-commerce. The ideal candidate will assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's e-commerce website. As a Junior Developer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the online shopping experience, optimize website performance, and contribute to the overall success of our e-commerce platform. Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Implementation: Assist in creating responsive, user-friendly interfaces for the client’s e-commerce website, ensuring a seamless shopping experience across devices and browsers.
- Web Development: Translate design concepts into functional and visually appealing web pages, support server-side logic, and optimize database structures.
- Performance Optimization: Enhance website performance for fast loading and smooth navigation.
- Security: Implement security best practices to protect customer data and ensure a secure online shopping environment.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing to identify and fix bugs, collaborate with QA teams for automated testing processes.
- Email Integration: Seamlessly integrate email campaigns into the website, set up automated workflows, and design responsive email templates.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work with the Rest team on strategic planning, execution, and optimization of e-commerce activities.
- Industry Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends and e-commerce regulations to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Solid experience and understanding of E-commerce with the ability to be creative, fix problems and provide maintenance for smooth problem free operations.
- Familiarity with the Shopify platform and Liquid templating language.
- Basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end technologies.
- Knowledge of version control systems and agile development methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Internship or project experience in e-commerce or Shopify development is a plus.
- Fully remote role but must be able to work PST time zone hours.
