NOW HIRING: Director of Activities
Motivated, responsible, enthusiastic, and kind. These are the qualities we are in search of.
We are seeking an individual who hones all of these qualities and will make an Activities Director. Organization and communication are key skills we seek in our ideal candidate.
Salary: $50,000- $60,000 annually
Some Responsibilities Include:
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs of the facility.
- Keep abreast of the current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards of practice, and make recommendations on changes in policies and procedures to the Administrator
- Review department policies, and procedures, at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes.
- Develop and implement procedures for the identification of medically related activity needs of the resident.
- Participate in discharge planning, development, and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments.
- Interview residents and families, as necessary, in a private setting.
- Involve residents and families in planning facility activity programs.
- Provide consultation to members of our staff, community agencies, etc. in efforts to solve the needs and problems of the resident through the development of activity programs.
- Coordinate activities with other departments, as necessary.
- Delegate authority, responsibility, and accountability to other responsible department personnel.
- Make written and oral reports and recommendations to the Administrator concerning the operation of the Recreation Department.
- Keep abreast of economic conditions and situations and recommend to the Administrator adjustments in activity programs that assure the continued ability to provide daily activities.
- Review and develop a plan of correction for activity deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such report to the Administrator
- Ensure that all charted activity progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided and of the resident's response to the service.
- Arrange transportation for field trips when necessary.
- Maintain a reference library of written material, laws, etc., necessary for complying with current standards and regulations and that will provide assistance in maintaining a quality activity program.
- Develop and participate in the planning, conducting, and scheduling of timely in-service training classes that provide instruction on "how to do the job," and ensure a well-educated Recreation Department
- Develop preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the activity needs of each resident
- Review nurses' notes to determine if the activity care plan is being followed. Report problem areas to the Director of Nursing
Director of Activities Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Activities Director
- Must be organized and have the ability to lead others
- Strong organizational and planning skills; ability to multi-task
