Volunteer Behavioral Health is now seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician.
A Facilities Maintenance Technician performs semiskilled and skilled building renovation and maintenance work of moderate difficulty; and performs related work as required.
The pay for this position is starting at $17 per hour and is based on experience.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide general maintenance and repair services for Volunteer Behavioral Health Care System.
Performs skilled installation of ceramic or other tile floor coverings, carpet, laminate or wood flooring.
Performs routine to difficult carpentry tasks involved in renovation of offices and buildings such as framing out areas, repairing or installing walls, ceilings, doors, windows, etc.
Performs routine to difficult plumbing tasks such as unstopping commodes and drains and repairing minor leaks; installs or repairs bathroom tubs, toilets, plumbing fixtures and water lines.
Performs routine electrical tasks such as replacing light bulbs and wall switches; performs or assists in the repair and installation of electrical outlets, circuits, fans and lighting fixtures.
Performs or assists in the repair and adjustment of laundry, kitchen, heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning units in outpatient offices and residential properties owned or managed by VBHCS.
Performs painting and finishing of the interior and exterior of buildings.
Operates and utilizes a variety of tools and equipment such as power tools, assorted hand tools, plungers, sewer rodders, drills, skill saws, welders, and grinders; may operate a pick-up truck or other vehicle in getting to and from job sites.
May keep simple to detailed records and checklists and make routine reports to Property/FacilitiesManager.
May be on-call for evening or week-end emergencies
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 21 years of age and hold a high school diploma or GED certificate, with minimum two years’ experience in general maintenance and carpentry work (preferred). The skills and general abilities required to perform these duties are typically acquired through experience in maintenance, carpentry, or construction work.
Employee should have sufficient strength and ability to independently and repeatedly lift, move and carry heavy objects; must hold valid Tennessee Driver License; and have reliable transportation and own tools.
