Position Purpose:
The Technology Sr. Director will oversee The Home Depot’s financial systems, encompassing both project delivery and production support operations.
In the project domain, the primary responsibility is to serve as the IT lead for a multi-year SAP S/4 transformation. For production support operations, this leader will ensure that support teams deliver prioritized backlog stories, resolve break-fix defects, and support running the business. All project and support work is conducted 100% remotely by agile backlog teams composed of The Home Depot employees, System Integrator consultants, and both onshore and offshore contractors. The team size is approximately 500 FTEs, comprised of both functional and technical SAP resources, full-stack developers, and legacy technologies, including mainframe and DB2 developers.
The project involves a multi-year SAP S/4 transformation focused on migrating from ECC to S/4 and consolidating legacy applications into S/4. The landscape is primarily an SAP Financials implementation, including S/4 with Central Finance, ECC, BW, CAR, Vistex, Ariba Cloud, and Concur Cloud. The S/4 systems operate on GCP. The financial landscape integrates with numerous upstream and downstream systems, including Stores, Distribution Centers, Payment Systems, and the Enterprise Data Warehouse. This project is substantial, with significant data volumes and performance scaling requirements, representing a once-in-a-career opportunity.
The Technology Sr. Director is also responsible for collaborating across the enterprise to plan and achieve multi-year plans and goals across a portfolio of products. This includes supporting the enterprise roadmap, ensuring technical and functional partner satisfaction, and driving initiatives that help the enterprise meet customer needs. Additionally, this role involves making proactive contributions and providing course corrections on the overall vision, strategy, goals, and roadmap for the Vice-President's area of responsibility. The Technology Sr. Director will guide others in both execution and professional development perspectives, ensuring alignment and successful outcomes across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
50% Strategy & Planning:

Partners with functional and technical leaders to identify and plan requirements necessary to meet short and long-term, multi-year business needs

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

10+ years of relevant work experience

Experience delivering large, complex, multi-year, transformational SAP programs

SAP retail experience, specifically in inventory valuation, moving average cost, accounts payable, and financial reporting

Experience managing System Integrators, SOWs, and software contract negotiations

Familiarity with the SAP ecosystem of products, partners, and macro strategies

Possess a balanced combination of finance business process operations skills and technical architecture knowledge, necessary to operate effectively at the scale of The Home Depot.
