We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team on weekends, holidays, and various times as needed. This role is ideal for someone who shares our commitment to animal welfare and is looking for an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our cats in a tranquil setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Feeding and Nutrition Management: Prepare and provide meals according to each cat's dietary requirements. Monitor their food intake and water availability, ensuring they are well-hydrated and nourished.
-Health Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct regular health checks to identify signs of illness or discomfort. Record and report any health issues, changes in behavior, or signs of distress to the senior veterinary technician and lodge management.
- Sanitation and Environment Maintenance: Ensure all living quarters, play areas, and equipment are clean, sanitized, and maintained to the highest standards. This includes litter box cleaning, laundry, and disinfection of communal areas.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications, treatments, and vaccines as prescribed.
- Compassionate Care: Provide compassionate care, including grooming, social interaction, and enrichment activities to enhance the cats' quality of life.
Qualifications:
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Previous experience in veterinary clinics, animal shelters, or similar settings.
- Strong understanding of feline behavior and health.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to promptly report any issues or concerns.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
