Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced freight broker agent to join our sales team. As a freight broker agent you will be given active house accounts to manage while you are building your book of business. This position requires a deep understanding of freight markets and the ability to quote accurately and efficiently. This is not a typical brokerage using cold calling to acquire new business. Sales reps will be trained to develop stronger sales skills using advanced prospecting techniques. This is a dynamic role that requires strong sales skills, knowledge of the transportation industry, and excellent customer service. This position will be fully remote through 2024 as our new offices are being built. Position will be hybrid work from home/office beginning next year.
Agent Responsibilities:
-Pricing/Quoting Shippers
-Vetting/screening new carriers and carrier compliance
- Develop and maintain relationships with shippers, carriers, and other industry professionals
- Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers to ensure cost-effective transportation solutions
- Coordinate the movement of freight from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery
- Track shipments and provide updates to customers on the status of their freight
- Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during transportation
- Utilize transportation management systems to optimize routing and maximize efficiency
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in regulations related to transportation
Experience:
- Proven experience in inside sales or logistics, preferably in transportation sales or freight brokerage
- Strong knowledge of supply chain and transportation management principles
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and carriers
- Proficient in using transportation management software and other relevant tools
