Key Living Options is currently seeking experienced, self-motivated, and trustworthy caretakers/DSPs to assist our individuals in our community coaching/community engagement services. Community coaching and engagement services vary from group home services, in which the DSP (direct support professional) will be responsible for transporting and completing daily outings and activities with various individuals throughout the week. This requires a great amount of trust and responsibility on part of the applicant, who will be responsible for the safety and well-being of all individuals under their care during outings. This is a great opportunity for an experienced caretaker/DSP, looking to get out into the community and involved in community activities with our individuals. The DSP will be responsible for transporting and accompanying the induvial/s to and from each activity scheduled. Some examples of activities the DSP would attend with the individual/s would be; Salem Red Sox Games, Salem Fair, Community Clean Up Volunteer activities, and also includes some one-on-one activities such as going out to lunch or for coffee, special programs at local civic centers, festivals, etc. We are a veteran friendly and EOE employer.

As a Community Coaching/Community Engagement DSP you would:
-Work out in the community assisting with scheduled activities for an adult that is diagnosed with an intellectual disability and/or developmental disability.
-Provide direct support care services including skill building, providing daily supports in daily living in correlation with Person-Centered Plan, along with all appropriate documentation for providing those services.
-Plan, coordinate, and complete community integration activities either individually or in conjunction with the individual and/or supervisor.
Minimum qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent (preferred)
License:
Virginia's driver's license (required)
Other:
Must be able to successfully complete a background check according to the Virginia State and Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services guidelines
Must be able to pass a TB test
Must be able to lift up 50 pounds
Must have 2 years of direct care experience with ID/DD individuals
