Member Services Associate
Part-time, hourly up to 29hrs/week
Supervisor: Sr. Member Retention + MRC Team Coordinator
A primary function of this and every other job at the J is to ensure by whatever rational and legal means necessary that each member, guest, and visitor leave the J feeling just a little bit better than when they arrived.
Member Associates are responsible for the day-to-day positive interactions and tasks associated with providing exceptional experience and service to all who enter, call, or email the Tucson J. This role serves as an ambassadors of the J and as a membership service representative to the community, by delivering a positive experience and quality interactions leading to member acquisition.
General Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas including supplies and information
- Greet and welcome members, users, coworkers, and guests, with a warm smile, and by name when possible
- Build deep authentic and meaningful relationships
- Provide exceptional experience
- Answer phones, assist/triage, and direct as needed
- Check and reply to emails, forward as needed
- Process program registrations both by phone and in-person with payment at time of registration or schedule payment as needed
- Sell and redeem guest passes
- Assist with reservations and send confirmations
- Process membership applications
- Call, and follow up with email if needed, to welcome and confirm activation of new membership units
- Verify insurance-based eligibility
- Collect and update member photos and unit information in our CRM (client relations management, system)
- Enter and maintain notes and information on user accounts in CRM
- Cash handling and protocol
- Other duties as assigned based on organizational need and individual team members skillset
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Possess excellent customer service skills
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification (classes available after hire date if needed)- preferred
Schedule:
- Up to 29hrs a week
- ideal candidates will be regularly able to work 3-5 shifts per week
- Each shift equal to 4-6 hours
- Candidates with open availability will be given preference

Hours of operation:
- Monday-Thursday, from 5:00am-9:00pm
- Friday 5:00am-6:00pm
- Saturday and Sunday 6:00am-6:00pm.
* hours scheduled are subject to change, additional hours as needed.
We are looking to hire 3-4 individuals. We aim to have a set schedule where team members can find a good work/life balance. Additional shifts can be picked up due to sick call outs or scheduled vacations.
Pay Rate: $14.35- $15/hr

This position is a part-time non-exempt position that may include weekend, days and/or evenings and is covered by the Code of Personnel Practices for Professional Staff.
