Title: Assistant After School Program Director
Start date: Immediately upon completion of hiring procedures.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Traditional school year: 10-month position (Late August through mid-June)
Starting hourly range commensurate with education and experience: $22-25. The rate of pay within the specified range may be adjusted at any time by the appointing authority based on the candidates' qualifications, prior experience, education level, etc.
Reports to: ASP Director
General Description: The Assistant After School Program (ASP) Director supports the Director in managing, organizing, and engaging the After School Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plan, execute, and facilitate weekly interactive and engaging activities that are fun and beneficial for social, spiritual, and academic development.
· Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, ensuring that programs are meeting the needs of the school, parents, and students.
· Prepare materials and equipment for after school instructional activities.
· Provide homework assistance and academic support for students K-8.
· Implement weekly lesson plans and theme events.
· Supervise outdoor recreation and ensure the safety of the students while following a prescribed program plan
· Establish clear, consistent expectations for behavior and positive discipline
Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Two years of experience working with school age children preferred
· Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities
· Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds
· Strong character values, strong communication skills, emotional maturity
