POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mobile Laboratory Phlebotomist is responsible for traveling to and collection of patient specimens for laboratory testing at regional remote sites. This is executed by following proper guidelines for safe handling of blood, body fluids and hazardous chemicals, and data entry into our LIS system.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Ability to perform clean venipunctures.
- Ability to perform capillary collections.
- Follows proper guidelines for safe handling of blood, body fluids, and hazardous chemicals.
- Ability to follow policy and procedures set by the company and its partners.
- Manage/maintain inventory levels of mobile phlebotomy supplies.
- Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify lead or manager.
- All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
- Phlebotomist with 2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification required.
- High school diploma required.
Technical Skills Required:
- Advanced knowledge and ability in the use of a personal computer (the company uses Apple/Mac products) and software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Must have technical proficiency with databases or CRM tools
- Apollo LIS experience a plus, but not required.
Communication Skills Required:
- Great oral and written communication skills both in person and over the phone are essential.
- Must have a friendly, professional attitude, patience, and be customer focused.
- Ability to write/edit/create promotional materials, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to communicate over the phone, through email, and in person; must speak, read and write English.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Able to sit at a desk and use computer for long periods of time.
- Able to lift/carry a minimum of 25 pounds; some standing, lifting, bending, and walking is required.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, kneel, couch, crawl, and stoop.
- Travel to various regional sites for collection, required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
