Texas Oncology is looking for a
Senior Concierge Pharmacy Technician to join our team! This is a
hybrid remote position will support all Texas Oncology Locations.

What does the Concierge Pharmacy Tech do? (including but not limited to)
Under direct supervision provides data entry and refill management for in-office dispensing of oral drugs to oncology patients. This includes technical aspects of oral medication dispensing, record keeping, as well as assisting with patient financial assistance and patient monitoring. Tasks are subject to sequential or final verification by a registered pharmacist. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to) :
- Maintains accurate patient records including patient demographics, current medication list, disease states list, allergy list, insurance information, and prescription information.
- Utilizes pharmacy management system to screen for drug interactions
- Makes outbound calls to patients to check for refill readiness.
- Documents refill and new prescription data within the EMR.
- Communicates with the patient care team on appropriateness of refill (e.g. requesting refill approvals) .
- Ensures patient is enrolled in ePRO system .
- Processes prescription and bills insurance for payment .
- Submits/Assists with prior authorizations.
- Submits/Assists with applying for patient financial assistance through manufacturer or foundation programs for high dollar oral drugs .
- Acts as a resource for other staff on dispensing oral drugs .
- Documents all patient interactions in the EHR .
- Assists with patient monitoring activities including prescription refills, prescription adherence, and prescription persistence .
- Interacts with patients regarding prescription dispensing, financial assistance, and patient follow-up .
- Maintain annual competencies set forth by company policy through supervisory visit conducted by corporate clinical team member.
- Obtain appropriate state registrations or licenses as needed.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience
- Experience in a retail pharmacy setting, medical integrated dispensing setting or specialty pharmacy is strongly preferred
- Oncology experience preferred
Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board requirement recommended.
