Our HVAC Lead will be responsible for ensuring timely cost effective maintenance and completion of HVAC projects by overseeing all phases of each project from our Westerville office. This entails working with a variety of partners to schedule and plan work, coordinate equipment and materials, operate within budget, and monitor overall progress. The HVAC Lead is an In-Person Office position in Westerville with our award winning team. The HVAC Lead must be comfortable multitasking with urgency, have strong leadership and communication skills, strong price negotiation skills, and have excellent organizational and computer skills. The HVAC Lead must have 3+ years experience in HVAC field work, (Facilities Management and/or Construction experience is a plus).
Role: HVAC Lead
Salary: $60K - 80K + performance bonus opportunity
- Understand the construction industry with a focus on mechanical/electrical aspects, including reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical systems.
- Serve as the primary contact for customers, subcontractors, and employees.
- Develop strong relationships with customers, key accounts, and contacts.
- Collaborate with HVAC Foreperson and project team to plan and schedule material and equipment needs.
- Utilize construction plans to coordinate HVAC equipment installation and support field circuit debugging.
- Manage layout, fabrication, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, ductwork, and ventilation applications.
- Prepare and manage project documentation, including submittals, insurance certificates, requisitions, permits, and other related documents.
- Estimate projects, track labor and material proposals, and organize project contacts and correspondence.
- Communicate with customers regarding project labor scheduling, maintenance, and contract quotes.
- Maintain a safe work environment and stay informed about industry developments for energy-saving strategies.
- Dispatch maintenance technicians, close work orders, and coordinate resources and tech partners.
- Understand commission building automation, energy management systems, and controls hardware/software.
- Make recommendations to customers on equipment improvements and schedule preventative maintenance and cleanings.
- Train team members to enhance HVAC knowledge, productivity, and safety.
- Participate in team meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
- Prior experience in HVAC field, sales, customer service, and support in commercial mechanical/HVAC industry.
- Track record of completing projects, self-motivation, and achieving customer satisfaction.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); knowledge of Service Channel is a plus.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Minimum 1 years of field experience in pipefitting trade in institutional, industrial, or commercial HVAC sector.
- 3+ years of experience in a HVAC Service Company, logistics, operations, estimating, and/or dispatching in HVAC/R field.
- Experience in HVAC controls industry, including DDC systems commissioning and software integration.
- 2+ years of experience in customer service and administrative support.
- Experience with various pipe and fitment techniques and materials.
- Ability to pass government background check, drug test, and other pre-access requirements.
- Willingness to travel to project locations and client meetings if needed.
- Ability to work well in a team and take direction.
- Professional, motivated, with excellent follow-through skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organization, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a safety-driven environment.
- Salary based on experience (Salary range of $60,000 to $80,000 per year).
