Our clinical assistants work directly with patients of all ages in our clinic assisting the doctor.
The position requires working one-on-one with a patient and directly in the mouth. Successful candidates will be comfortable working directly with the doctor, patient and patient’s family. The right candidate will possess the ability to communicate technical orthodontic information in a manner that is understandable by someone without orthodontic knowledge to convey treatment and instructions with patients and parents. Successful candidates also possess the ability to follow a schedule while staying on time, to think ahead and make decisions, for accuracy in performing procedures as well as accuracy of communication and chart notation. Having good dexterity, being stable with your hands and being a fast-learner are all essential parts of being successful in this role.Experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right person who possesses the qualities listed above. Orthodontic Assistant Responsibilities:
- Celebrates the patients journey throughout treatment
- Preforms initial bonds on patients• Placing, replacing, and removing as needed archwires, Brackets, powerchains, O-ties, Invisalign attachments, and orthodontic appliances
- Obtain current dental histories and/or takes full records including intra-oral pictures, panos, cephs, and 3-D scans
- Take impressions for retainer creation
- Empower and educate patients on maintaining great orthodontic care
- Record patient charting and all doctor notes in the digital patient chart
- Prepare tray setups for regular appointments and maintain adequate supply levels• Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations
- Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance• All other tasks as needed VAradiology license required but can be obtained within 60 days of hire
