The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) invites applications for the position Physical Education/Athletic Facilities Assistant (Female/Male). A Physical Education/Athletics Facilities Assistant (Female/Male) issues, collects, and makes minor repairs to physical education and/or intercollegiate athletics equipment and oversees the use of equipment rooms, locker rooms, and related men's or women’s physical education facilities.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Monthly Salary: $4,077.08-$5,050.78 ($48,924.96-$60,609.36 per year)*
*Salary is based off a full-time, 12-month position.
Health Benefits: District-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance plans for employee and dependents. A $50,000 life insurance policy is provided free of charge for each employee. A Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) with $1,500 contributed by LACCD annually.
Paid Time Off: 12 full-pay days and 88 half-pay days of illness leave per year, at least 19 paid holidays per year, and accrued vacation time from 10-24 days per year depending on the position. Other paid time off options are also available.
Retirement: Employees become members of the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) pension. Employees are also covered by Social Security.

TYPICAL DUTIES
Issues and collects physical education and/or intercollegiate athletics equipment, team uniforms, gym clothes, towels, and related items, and may organize and pack necessary equipment, uniforms, and supplies for athletic away games and travel with teams as needed.
Cleans, marks, and makes minor repairs to physical education and/or athletics equipment.
Oversees and monitors the use of various physical education and/or intercollegiate athletic facilities by students to assure compliance with safety and security regulations.
Keeps equipment, supplies, and related facilities neat and clean.
Keeps accurate inventory records of equipment and supplies issued and in stock.
Sets up courts, fields, gymnasium equipment, and related facilities for use by college physical education and intercollegiate athletics programs.
Prepares lists of equipment and supplies for ordering and receives and inspects delivered items for accuracy against purchase orders.
Launders team uniforms, gym clothes, and related items.
Marks and sets up tracks and athletic fields for practice sessions and regularly scheduled home contests.
Answers telephone requests for information and takes messages for physical education instructors and/or other athletics staff.
May operate utility carts to transport equipment and materials.
May assist first responders in routine first-aid work.
May maintain a lost and found and check valuables.
May perform general clerical work.
May operate computer equipment and standard office machines.
May provide work direction to student employees.
Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or its equivalent AND one year of full-time, paid experience involving the maintenance of physical education and athletic facilities and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to fifty pounds.
Special:
A valid Class "C" California driver's license may be required for some positions.
A valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate or its equivalent issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association is desirable.
