This is a 3rd shift management position. The shift starts at 12:00am and goes until at least 8:00am. This is not a flexible schedule.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for managing all aspects of the production operation, including supervising all shift production employees.
Essential Functions:
Work includes most of the following:
- Manage the Production staff. (train, evaluate, appraise needs for and application of discipline)
- Maintain, monitor and achieve the daily production schedule.
- Attend production meetings to review the production schedule and assigned duties.
- Delegate and assign tasks to ensure daily production schedule is being met.
- Recognize, understand, and promote all key aspects of Lean Manufacturing and 5s cultural promotion.
- Work with accounting to identify production runs reflecting negative variances and develop opportunities to improve.
- Verify job bags and ensure proper content prior to acceptance with new projects/products
- Approve all new printing plates prior to production use in relation to the same.
- Provide a second approval signature on production jobs when required.
- Perform minor machine troubleshooting. Coordinate assistance when needed through Maintenance Manager.
- Ensure correct raw materials are set for each press run.
- Monitor the results of effective press set up, mounting of all plates, cart assembly and cleaning of all carts.
- Responsible for maintaining the “unique tooling” for the production schedule.
- Maintain and review inventory levels on product and supplies within pressroom
- Review and maintain line set up for safe and efficient operation.
- Maintain a safe operation and implement safety training as required.
- Report quality variances to the quality team.
- Monitor and report on K.P.I’s in relation to Production and personnel in timely fashions.
- Review, correct and approve daily time edit sheets.
- Review and approve vacation requests related to production personnel
- Perform any tasks assigned by the VP of Operations to meet the production schedule and company goals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- BA/BS or Associates degree in manufacturing technology or equivalent experience of 5 or more years of manufacturing experience on related equipment with some supervisory experience.
- Significant knowledge of production methods and techniques.
- General knowledge of basic operation of departments related to production.
- Knowledge and ability to establish maintain and achieve high quality standards for production operations.
- Ability to analyze problems and take immediate, decisive corrective action.
- Well developed supervisory skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Effective oral and written communication.

- Understand and observe all Company safety standards. Job involves constant use of hearing protection, work with water based inks, use of degreasers and solvents and other lubricants.

- Ability to work over eight hours in a work day, and over 40 in a work week as necessary;
- Position requires constant standing, frequent reaching, use of hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, stretching and crouching and occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds, pushing paper rolls that weigh up to 300 pounds, constant close attention to detail
- Use of close vision and fine motor skills to detect quality issues
- Occasional communication with supervisor or other employees.
- Work with moving mechanical parts with potential pinch points, cuts and crush points
- Is frequently required to use hands and fingers to reach and grasp.
- Vision abilities including close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
