We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Class A Driver with Tanker endorsement to join our team. As a Class B Driver/Operator of Vacuum Trucks, you will be responsible for transporting and delivering bulk liquids, such as grease trap waste. Your expertise in operating Vacuum Trucks while adhering to FMCSA regulations and ensuring the safe handling of all materials will be essential in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a Class B commercial motor vehicle equipped with a bulk tanker trailer.
- Load and unload bulk liquids in accordance with industry-specific guidelines and safety procedures.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in optimal working condition.
- Adhere to all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, including hours of service (HOS) requirements, vehicle weight limits, and proper documentation.
- Plan routes and ensure efficient delivery of goods while adhering to established schedules and customer requirements.
- Follow established procedures for the safe and secure handling of wastewater, including proper loading, unloading, and storage.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, fuel consumption, mileage, and other relevant documentation.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism when interacting with customers, and provide excellent customer service.
- Respond to any emergencies, accidents, and spills promptly, following established safety protocols and notifying the appropriate authorities as required.
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel, ensuring the timely repair and upkeep of the vehicle and equipment.
- Comply with company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
Requirements:
- Valid Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with Tanker endorsement.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating bulk tanker trailers.
- Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents within the past 7 years.
- FMCSA regulatory knowledge and experience, including familiarity with HOS requirements, weight limits, and vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to handle and transport bulk liquids safely and in accordance with industry-specific guidelines and regulations.
- Strong understanding of safe driving practices, defensive driving techniques, and road traffic regulations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and resolve any service-related issues effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in completing required documentation, including inspection reports, delivery logs, and fuel consumption records.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy loads as required. (Vacuum hoses, grease trap lids, etc.)
- Able to sit/stand for 10-14 hours per day
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, and nights as needed.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to established protocols.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of a background screening process to ensure compliance with regulatory and security requirements.
- Passing a pre-employment drug screening to maintain a drug-free workplace.
- Ability to pass a fit-for-duty physical examination to ensure the physical capability to perform the essential job functions.
- Willingness to adhere to all safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
