Job Summary
Must understand the purpose and scope of each process area, including disassembly, inspection/measurement, test, paint, and reassembly. He/she must follow FAA and other CAA requirements related to in-process inspections, final inspection and return to service. In addition, he/she must be able to read and interpret OEM repair manual instructions as well as FAA and CAA regulations. The QC Inspector is expected to always practice exemplary conduct and work ethics. The ability of the shop employees to function as a compatible team is imperative to our overall success, and the QC Inspector must participate with initiative, positive approaches to problem solving/prevention, and commitment to quality. All candidates will be drug tested and are subject to random testing after hire.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Interpret and follow all FAA and CAA regulations, Repair Station, Quality Manuals, SMS Manual, Safety Manual and OEM Manuals.
- Understand work order paper trail.
- Be able to perform in-process inspections, review work packages, final inspection and return to service.
- Able to read precise measurements using instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, etc. (Verifies calibration.)
- Exhibit behavior appropriate for maintenance of productive and cohesive working environment.
- QC inspector is expected to be proactive and work in cooperation with the chief inspector and/or quality manager in obtaining the necessary skills to add value to the shop cross functionally and to grow his/ her own knowledge base.
- Flexibility and the ability to manage change are essential.
Qualifications and Skills
High School Diploma or GED. 10 years’ experience on Propellers and/or Propeller Component of which a minimum of 5 years must be as a quality inspector or specialist for Propellers and/or Propeller Components in a 14 CFR Part 145 Propeller Repair Station or Military equivalent is required. Be certificated under 14 CFR Part 65 with an Airframe and Powerplant Certificate. Be proficient in Microsoft Office. Applicant must be able to lift approximately 60 pounds and stand for long periods of time. Ability to interpret and follow repair instructions from OEM manuals and engineering drawings. Understand FAA and CAA regulations. An aptitude for detail is essential. Writing skills and accuracy are required for documentation. Ability to safely and properly operate shop equipment and ability to read and understand precision measuring equipment.
