WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
This individual is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining fiber optic cables and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fiber optic technology, be proficient in splicing techniques, and demonstrate a commitment to quality and safety standards.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
· Fiber Optic Splicing: Perform fusion splicing, mechanical splicing, and ribbon splicing to join optical fibers with minimal loss.
· Cable Preparation: Strip, prepare, and cleave fibers for splicing and termination.
· Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct OTDR, power meter, and continuity tests to ensure fiber optic cables meet performance specifications.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of splicing, testing, and maintenance activities.
· Repair and Maintenance: Identify and repair fiber optic cable faults, including aerial, buried, and underground cables.
· Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and industry standards to ensure a safe working environment.
· Collaboration: Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field technicians to complete projects efficiently and within deadlines.
· Equipment Management: Maintain and calibrate splicing equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT
· A thorough understanding of splicing and testing both fiber and copper plant.

Able to diagnose trouble in both fiber
and copper plants.

Strong people skills, team building,
solid leadership skills.

Willing to work nights/weekends as
required (available 24/7).
· Strong problem-solving skills.
· Ability to focus on details while still operating within tight deadlines.
· At least 2 years prior splicing experience is preferred.

WHAT TO EXPECT
· Outdoors environment which may require exposure to elements, including but not limited to wind, rain, heat, cold, snow, sleet, mud, etc.

· Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, or other job-related pre-hire screenings related to the job.
· Job may require lengthy over-the-road and away from home travel, depending on project location.
· Job may require odd hours, such as overnight or unscheduled emergency call-outs.
