Education and/or Experience
Required:
High School Diploma
Keyboarding accuracy of 50 wpm
Preferred:
Two or more years of secretarial/clerical experience
Experience/knowledge of office management
Basic Skills
Possess keyboarding accuracy at 50 wpm
Basic computer skills and knowledge of general office procedures
Ability to maintain rapport and composure with parents, students, staff, and the general public
Ability to operate general office equipment
Ability to work within specific time frames and be detail oriented
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written documents
Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply principles of reason and logic for problem-solving purposes
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists the Assistant Principal to provide supplementary/supportive services to the students, staff and parents.
Assists Assistant Principal with creating the master schedule and site curriculum handbook.
Assists students, staff, and the public by answering inquiries, resolving problems and furnishing information concerning standards, procedures, and programs.
Assists Assistant Principal with registration, attendance, and withdrawals to insure accurate records.
Assists Assistant Principal with reports and information and be knowledgeable regarding SAIS requirements
Assists with orientation and registration.
Assists with graduation/banquets/award programs.
Screens visitors/telephone calls and schedules appointments for department.
Performs a variety of moderately complex clerical and typing duties in relation to the function to which assigned
Reviews documents for accuracy, completeness and conformance to established procedures and ensure they meet all district and state requirements.
Develops and maintains files and records for future reference and audit.
Creates/inputs data/maintains master schedule/site curriculum handbook and assists with registration process.
Responsible for enabling/monitoring input of data for progress reports and report cards.
Answers inquiries and furnishes information concerning standards, procedures and programs.
Composes correspondence and prepares reports wherein some independent judgment is exercised requiring basic understanding of rules, regulations, and policies related to function.
May attend meetings and take and transcribe summary notes.
