Job Overview:
The Learning Leadership Center in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lead Infant Teacher and Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating educational environment where young children can develop foundational skills in preparation for kindergarten. This role involves planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that encourages children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Planning and Implementation:
- Develop and execute a dynamic curriculum that promotes early childhood education and aligns with state standards.
- Create lesson plans that cater to individual learning styles and developmental stages.
- Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, including play-based learning, hands-on activities, and technology integration.
2. Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
- Implement effective classroom management techniques to promote positive behavior and ensure a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
3. Infant Development:
- Foster a love for learning and encourage curiosity in young children.
- Support children’s social and emotional development through positive interactions and role modeling.
- Identify and address individual infant/toddler needs, including those requiring special services.
4. Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers about their child’s progress and any concerns.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational experience.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
5. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations related to early childhood education.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and other required documentation.
- Adhere to the center’s health and safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- an Associate's in early childhood education or CDA certificate (preferred but not required)
- Previous experience teaching in a licensed childcare center or early childhood setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
