Description:
RelyOn Credit Union is seeking a Part-Time Teller for its Forney location.
Position Purpose
Deliver exceptional level of service; receive and pay out cash and negotiable items; keep records of cash and negotiable instruments; identify members’ needs and cross-sell/refer credit union products and services; and safeguard member information and credit union records in compliance with information security policies, standards, and procedures.
Essential Duties

Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, and examine checks for validity, including the points of negotiation and endorsements acceptable under credit union policy.

Maintain an excellent record in cash drawer balancing, attendance, and referrals.

Cash checks and pay out money after verification of signatures and member balances.

Enters members’ transactions into computer to record transactions, and issue computer-generated receipts.

Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds in accordance with Regulation CC and credit union policy.

Maintain good member relations; exercise discretion regarding transactions.

Explain, promote, and cross-sell products or services including but not limited to debit cards, credit cards, auto loans, mortgage loans, checking accounts, etc. Make appropriate referral to service center -based Service Banker or Loan Officer.

Maintain current and comprehensive knowledge of all credit union products and services; stay current with rules and regulations including BSA, OFAC, and robbery procedures.

Support the operation of the service center, including, but not limited to opening and closing, security, and help maintain the integrity, cleanliness, and safety of the service center.
Requirements:
Competencies

High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

At least one year of cash handling skills.

Exceptional member service and interpersonal skills.

Tech-savviness a huge plus.

Detail-oriented with a “can-do” attitude.

Exceptional oral communication skills, especially in difficult situations.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Must be able to work with frequent interruptions while multi-tasking for accuracy within time limitations.

Knowledge of credit union practices, culture, rules, and regulations highly desirable.

Ability to work off-hours with occasional evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Equipment Used
Typical office equipment and teller/ATM software.
Internal Communication
Frequent interaction with Team Members to gather, exchange, and provide information.
External Communication
Frequent communication with members, potential members, loan applicants, vendors, and partners.
Working Conditions
No physical effort beyond what’s typically required in a normal office environment. Requires flexible time schedule. Potential for tight deadlines or time periods of high workload may require additional hours. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal. As this is a retail service center, occasional extended hours, including weekends, are expected.
Must be able to to walk, sit, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, see, hear, speak, read, and type. Manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 10 pounds is required.

Compliance
All team members must abide by state and federal regulations governing financial institutions, including BSA and OFAC, and know the signs of, and how to report, suspected elder financial abuse.
